When they asked the little girl where her home was she replied - Where mother is

Life is too short

leapI started thinking today about the meaning of my life. Now before you think I am getting too philosophical with you - think about this: If you are in your mid 30's or early 40's - you are half-way through an average life span. What have you done with your life up to this point that you are proud of? What do you wish you could change?

We never want to think that we have lived our lives and never taken a risk - never truly experienced all that life has to offer.....so are you up to the challenge? Does your heart beat a little bit faster when you think about what could be?.....

As a mom, and as a woman, I admit that I have had to overcome some of the stereo types that exist in the world today.

ie - If I am a working mom, then I must be a woman who puts my child in daycare and only cares about my career.

If I am a stay at home mom, then I don't do anything other than housework and raise my children (and I can't relate to people in the workforce anymore).

I am trying to break some of these stereo types and take a stand for moms. We can be stay at home moms and be here for our children every day - but we can also chase our dreams.....we aren't defined as just "moms" - we are also smart, intelligent women who have a lot to offer and should never underestimate our talents and gifts.

I don't like the labels of "Work at Home Moms" or "Stay at Home Moms" - because we are so much more than that.

We are moms who have found a financially viable way to be at home with our children - and doing things for ourselves that makes us feel good about who we are as individuals. Every woman will define success differently in her life - but for me - true success is being at home with my children and helping other moms find a way they can do it too. Period.

I am constantly asked about how I manage to do all that I do - and still be a full time stay at home mom. And the truth is - I work late at night and meet with other moms in the evenings and weekends - when my husband is able to look after our children.

My cell and computer are turned off during the day...and are turned back on every evening. I never let anything overshadow my time with my children - and I've had to learn to "leave it all behind" - just like I would from any other job.

If there is something in your life that is meant to be and you know down deep that it is...do something about it....the first step is always the hardest. But that's why I'm doing this....because I want to help moms achieve something that they've always dreamed of achieving and just never thought possible. I am living proof that a mom can be a stay at home mom and still be able to achieve her dreams.

Life sometimes has a strange way of taking us back to something that we always knew we were destined to do - we just needed a friendly "kick in the butt" to get there. :)
