She financialIf you live in the White Rock/Surrey/Langley area, you may be interested in a great info session and evening this week that is about raising awareness about women and cancer.

Penny Deming, President of SHE Financial is hosting the evening. She was inspired to hold the Event after reading an article about a young girl who lost her mother to cancer....

As an only parent herself, it just rang too close to home. So she rallied up other women business owners in the community and created an event to educate and empower women on cancer issues. All the proceeds raised will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.

KorkiI also wanted to share with readers that today was my son's 5th birthday. He had a great time with his friends and was entertained by Korki the Clown.

The theme this year was Batman. Everything HAD to be Batman. And guess what? Batman isn't really "in" anymore so my search for Batman items began a month ago. However, after much searching, I did manage to locate some Batman party favours and decorations, along with a great Batman DVD, action figure and Batman cake.

I have to admit, even though we had a clown and there were only six children invited to the party...I am wiped!!!!

Teachers everywhere - I have a new-found respect for what you do every day with more than double the amount I had today! :) LOL. But it was fun. :)

And my son was happy and is now wiped from his very exciting day - a true sign of a successful birthday!

We are off this week to Disneyland - and that will be a whole other type of adventure. He has never been on a trip like this (or been on a plane) so it should be interesting to see how he reacts...fingers crossed it is a good one! ;)

My daughter is staying with my mom, as she is only two years old, and I think Disneyland may be a tad too much for her right now. They'll get to go together again when she turns five. :)

Wish me luck!!!! :)
